In the past blogs, you’ve learned how to add or apply makeup in Photoshop. Now if for some reasons, you want to do the opposite which is removing eye makeup, then you need to know that there are a number of ways of doing it.
If you’re familiar with the Clone Stamp Tool, then this would probably be the first thing that would come into your mind. Clone Stamp Tool enables the removal of unwanted details of a photo. It paints a part of a photo over another part. For example, if you want to remove some visible skin blemishes or pimples, you can use the clone stamp tool to copy the color and texture of the smoother part of the skin, and stamp it onto the blemish or zit, creating a much smoother skin.
The same principle can be done over makeup. You can clone the make-up free part of the skin and paint it onto the eye area to remove the makeup. To do it, just hold the ALT key, click on the makeup free part of the skin, release the ALT key, and then brush over the makeup. You would have to do this over and over again until you cover over all the makeup.
The problem with using Clone Stamp Tool is that it may also cover the eyelashes once you’re removing makeup from the eyelids. Also, Opacity that’s too high may result to unnatural looking skin or the photo in general.
Another way of removing eye makeup through Photoshop is by using the Brush tool.
Again, this procedure can produce varying results. Some will be outstanding, while others won’t be, meaning the photo or the skin won’t really look very natural.
The suggested steps above are just to give you an overview of what can be done to remove makeup. If you really need a more polished result, then you can avail the services of professional photo editors. For just at least $4.99 per image, professionals can do the color editing for you.
